Job Description
We're a property manager for private homeowners (primary homes - not rentals) in San Francisco & the Bay Area.
We're looking a skilled and reliable Handyman to join our team on a contract basis and help us deliver great service and maintain these homes.
The ideal candidate will work closely with our property manager to provide top-notch maintenance and repair services for private homes and primary residences. You will be responsible for performing a variety of handyman tasks, ensuring the homes under our management are well-maintained and in excellent condition. You'll be interacting with our homeowners, so professionalism and cleanliness is very important.
Responsibilities
- General Repairs: Perform minor repairs around the home, including fixing leaky faucets, repairing broken fixtures, and addressing.
- Home Repairs: Address a variety of home repair needs, such as patching drywall, painting, other minor carpentry tasks, and general wear and tear.
- Proactive Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks and address potential issues before they become major problems. Replace filters, follow an established maintenance schedule, and similar tasks.
- Hanging & Mounting: Hang artwork, light fixtures, and other decorative items securely and accurately.
- Miscellaneous Projects: Picking up packages, filling air in car tires, and running miscellaneous errands are part of how we take care of our homeowners. We may ask for your help with some of these projects.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with homeowners, providing excellent customer service and ensuring satisfaction with all completed tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance / technical service role
- Strong knowledge of various repair and maintenance techniques
- Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation to travel between homes (mostly in SF, Marin, Oakland)
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
Workload
- We're looking for 10-20 hours of work per week – mostly weekdays – and we're flexible around your schedule
- You'll start by servicing about a dozen homes, but there's room to grow; we have dozens of homes under management
- You'll be fully supported by our office – we'll take care of parts, scheduling, and coordination so that you can focus on getting the jobs done.
