Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a Facilities Custodian/Maintenance to join our team You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep building in clean and orderly condition
  • Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning, stripping, and polishing floors. 
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Organize custodial closets and spaces
  • Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment
  • Completes laundry duties daily.
  • Removes trash and waste.
  • Washes windows.
  • Vacuuming
  • Cleaning restrooms and breakrooms
  • Mopping
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and contribute to the overall team effort including being in uniform, dependable, and on time.
  • Assists in cleaning detention areas as needed.
  • Assists Center in contraband control.
  • Performs other relevant/job specific duties as assigned in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Must successfully pass required background check
  • Must successfully pass required drug and alcohol screening upon employment.

​Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS:

May be required to drive in adverse weather conditions; must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds; may be exposed to violent youths or youths under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs; may be exposed to blood or other bodily fluids; may be required to restrain violent detention residents; may be exposed to contagious or communicable diseases.
