The School Sisters of St. Francis is looking for a part-time Recreational Therapist to work 65 hours per pay period (6.5 hours per day) during first shift 9:00/9:30am-4:00/4:30pm. Some evenings as needed. Every 3rd Saturday. 

Pay starting at $20.00/hour+ based on experience.

The Recreational Therapist is responsible for conducting a daily program designed to meet the therapeutic needs of the sisters. Responsible for coordinating and participating in the planning, implementation, and performance of therapeutically oriented activities to improve the functioning of Sisters who have a wide variety of physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, and emotional needs. 

 

School Sisters of St. Francis is a non-profit, religious organization located in Milwaukee, WI. Within the campus, there is an assisted living facility for retired nuns. The core characteristics of this organization are hospitality, service, respect, and support. We offer independent apartment living, to assisted, to complete support with end-of-life care.

At School Sisters of St. Francis, our staff gets to know and interact with those they serve while assuring quality of life - physical, social, psychological, and Spiritual. We are seeking an individual who would fit our compassionate environment caring for retired religious Sisters.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree with a major in therapeutic recreation, music therapy, art therapy, dance therapy drama therapy, or leisure studies with a    specialization in recreational therapy from an accredited university or program.

· Minimum one (1) year of experience and/or training working with activities in a geriatric population, long-term care environment preferred,      or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Demonstrates basic knowledge of Microsoft office software; word, excel, power point, and e-mail programs.

· Demonstrates basic knowledge of computer technology for video performances and internet access.

· Demonstrates basic knowledge of video calls and creating and maintaining play lists on a streaming platform.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

·  National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NTCRTC)  a plus.

·  Certification in dementia care a plus.
