Position: Industrial Process Engineer

Job Description Summary:
Optimize process conditions for both injection and compression molding. Perform maintenance-related project management from start to finish. Develop training documents to resolve repeat issues; new equipment training; root cause analysis on repeat issues and communicate training when needed. Build training platforms by equipment. Improve troubleshooting methods both at Production and Maintenance levels. Develop cost-saving projects. Responsible for the setup and programming of vision inspection systems.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Attend daily meetings with the Maintenance Manager and staff to discuss past 24-hour issues and resolutions.
- Perform qualifications and sampling of new tools, materials, and machines to ensure that preventive maintenance processes are developed, resulting in acceptable levels of quality and efficiency.
- Assist maintenance and tool technicians in determining causes for machines running outside normal production processes and resolving them to maintain an acceptable level of quality and efficiency.
- Train technicians to develop skills needed to maintain acceptable line performance, reduce scrap, and minimize machine downtime.
- Assist in audits, inspections, safety meetings, GMP reviews, and other duties not directly related to engineering duties.
- Meet with the Maintenance Manager daily to discuss the last 24 hours’ maintenance issues, project status, and goals.
- Work with the Maintenance Department to identify machine issues and assist with troubleshooting to perform necessary repairs.
- Assist corporate Research & Development with the development and installation of new production lines in accordance with established requirements.
- Meet with tooling manufacturers to help the tool shop improve their PM process; communicate needs and provide feedback on performance.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum five (5) years related experience, specifically in processing injection and/or compression molding equipment.
- Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience in training and working with customers. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional related experience, specifically in processing compression molding equipment.
- Supervisory experience in shift management.
Supervision Received:
- Works under the general direction of the Department Manager.
