Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven VP of Marketing to lead the marketing efforts for our network of compounding pharmacies. As the VP of Marketing, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote our network, drive customer acquisition, and enhance brand awareness. You will lead a team of marketing professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure the successful implementation of marketing initiatives. Your expertise will be pivotal in supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality compounded medications and exceptional patient care.

Reporting to the Chief Business Officer (CBO), the VP of Marketing is a member of the business’s leadership team. The role is responsible for strategic and tactical marketing positioning and programs that drive the growth of the business across all solutions sold in the health systems and Payer markets.
The successful candidate will manage a team of marketers and will have full responsibility for the marketing function. Most of that function is to support the sales force, the clinical teams, and the needs of our network pharmacies.

Strategic Marketing Planning:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine the overall marketing strategy in line with the company's vision and goals, growth targets, and brand positioning.
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and potential threats.
  • Conduct regular market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.
  • Set ambitious marketing targets and KPIs to measure campaign performance and ROI.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and goals for team members, ensuring everyone contributes effectively to the department's success.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and capabilities.

Brand Management:

  • Oversee brand development and positioning, ensuring consistent messaging across all marketing channels.
  • Maintain brand guidelines and monitor compliance across various marketing materials and campaigns.
  • Cultivate brand loyalty and trust among patients, healthcare providers, and stakeholders.
  • Implement strategies to promote the network's unique value proposition and differentiating factors in the marketplace.

Multi-Channel Marketing:

  • Lead and optimize marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital (website, social media, email marketing), print, events, and community outreach.
  • Collaborate with the digital marketing team to enhance the network's online presence, SEO, and lead generation efforts.
  • Drive patient engagement and retention through targeted marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate with sales teams to align marketing strategies with their goals and support lead nurturing and conversion.

Product and Service Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the pharmacy and healthcare teams to develop effective marketing strategies for new compounded medications and services.
  • Craft compelling product messaging and positioning that resonates with target audiences.
  • Support the sales team with sales enablement materials and training.
  • Work closely with the sales team to support lead nurturing and conversion activities.

Physician and Healthcare Provider Engagement:

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with healthcare professionals, physicians, and prescribers to promote the network's services and build strong referral relationships.
  • Organize educational events, webinars, and seminars to showcase the network's expertise in compounding pharmacy solutions.

Compliance and Regulations:

  • Ensure all marketing efforts adhere to industry regulations, ethical standards, and compliance requirements specific to pharmaceutical marketing.
  • Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to review marketing materials for accuracy and compliance.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and pain points to inform marketing strategies.
  • Utilize data and analytics to track marketing performance, gain insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve marketing objectives and optimize ROI.
  • Track and report on marketing performance metrics and KPIs regularly to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Monitor expenses and measure ROI for all marketing initiatives.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven track record (typically 8+ years) in marketing roles, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry and with a track record of success in progressively responsible positions.
  • Previous experience in marketing for compounding pharmacies is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a marketing team effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in utilizing analytics to drive marketing decisions.
  • Understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of current marketing trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience in B2B/B2C marketing, product marketing, digital marketing, and brand management is a plus.
