The Program Nurse Manager assumes responsibility to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of healthcare across the continuum of services.  Maintains compliance with applicable state, federal and national regulations, and the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPA) Guidelines. This position supervises five staff and works closely with a wide range of contracted clinicians, community providers, social services, and clinic staff.

 The nurse in this position will act as a role model, resource person and member of the leadership team, as well as keeping the organization's mission and vision at the forefront of all patient care and system activities.

Essential Functions

Daily Process management/coordination·        In collaboration with the Administrative Director, oversees operations of the program.·        This position requires the nurse to back fill all position in the office or clinic team per scope of practice when necessary. ·        Oversee clinic flow to ensure efficient use of clinician time while following a patient centered care model.·        Arranges clinic dates and coordinates providers / patients to appropriate clinics. ·        Conduct periodic chart audits. Review pre-clinic charts and assist team in determining patient needs at each clinic visit.·        Promotes community awareness of available services for children with cleft and or craniofacial anomalies.·        Creates educational materials for patients and families.·         Coordinates educational opportunities for team members, families, and the community.·        Coordinates annual family and team activities. ·        Provides pediatric visits as needed as a member of the interdisciplinary team, including developing and implementing individual care plans.·        Work with outpatient practices and birth hospitals to identify and assist with care needs for newly diagnosed patients.
·        Attend initial patient/family appointment as needed to: Answer questions from family/patient. Provide educational literature.·        Spearhead the process of ACPA- certification. ·        Prepares for State accreditation site visit when scheduled, including completing all deliverables per contract requirements. ·        Assist team Directors in initiating, developing, implementing, and monitoring, and measuring quality improvement processes. ·        Assisting with data collection (surgeries, referrals, contract deliverable requirements) and supporting QI projects for the team.·        Liaison with other craniofacial teams.·        This role will be responsible for hiring and orienting new team members.·        Following patient financial assistance guidelines executed by the Executive Snyder Team and Partnership for Child Health Finance Director monitoring of invoices for patient financial assistance. ·        Attends PCH Executive meetings. Collaboration·        Ensure Center has interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.·        Collaboration with team providers, calls may present after hours, to ensure coordination of care for optimal patient care. ·        Provide consultation services and education regarding care of newborns with cleft palate to community providers, birthing hospitals, and other health care agencies.·        Facilitates communication between inpatient and outpatient team members and patients and families.·        Collaborates on initiatives and issues related to pediatric complex care and chronic health issues.·        In collaboration with PCH monitor development of contracts for employees, and outlying Universities and programs the cleft and craniofacial team provides clinical opportunities.·        In collaboration with PCH Finance Director oversees annual budget.·        Liaison for all clinical institutions and sites. Responsible for evaluations of students when requested. ·        Liaison with WCH·        In collaboration with PCH maintain relationship with Ed and Liz Snyder·        Ensure when other donations received PCH aware and thank you notes sent from team.

Education and Communication
·        As needed, provides continuing education to cleft palate patients and families during clinic visits, prenatal visits, telephone encounters and educational programs.·        Provide outreach to community pediatricians, birthing hospitals and others to ensure the best care for children with cleft and craniofacial anomalies.·        Continue Professional development as appropriate.·        Be involved in local, regional, and national educational programs and meetings.·        Attend ACPA / FCPA annually to maintain knowledge and competence in this area.

·        Communication with craniofacial fellow to ensure patient updates, program guidelines. 

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities1. Education: Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Program.2. License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Nurse in the State of Florida.3. Experience: 3 years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse.4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families of patients, and all levels of healthcare providers. Ability to develop collaborative working relations with multiple disciplines, departments, and outside healthcare organizations.5. Thorough and significant knowledge of the medical, surgical, and psychosocial needs of patients with cleft lip/palate. Proven successful ability to manage and coordinate complex projects and processes from inception to implementation, and follow-up. Ability to work under stress with numerous interruptions, distractions and changing priorities.6. Strong software and computer skills, including Microsoft Office (including Power Point, Access, and Excel), database.
