Project Manager / Hybrid contract position with Department of Homeland Security

This position is responsible for assisting Cyber Command with the implementation of projects and strategies that promote and support the statewide cybersecurity program. The position assists the Statewide Information Security and Privacy Office (SISPO) with attaining the statewide information security goals and objectives set by the State CISO. This position coordinates the daily operational activities of various projects that support the long-term cybersecurity goals of the Department.

Theoretical and practical aspects of project management.

Interrelationships among various internal & external organizational functions.

Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.

Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.

Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly.

Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization.

Develop and write technical documentation.

Leading team(s) to design solutions for clients.

Qualifications

·         3 OR MORE years of experience in project coordination and management (or equivalent experience)

·         Manages multiple medium and large-sized projects, including some complex projects, in support of the Statewide Security Program

·         Facilitates the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements

·         Leads planning and implementation of projects

·         Develops methods to monitor project progress and takes corrective action

·         Manages projects based on repeatable standards and practices where possible, but also may require defining new approaches

·         Works cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes to resolve issues

·         Proactively and routinely identifies, mitigates and reports project risks

·         Manages and coordinates project budget and resource allocation

·         Strong customer service

·         Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication

·         Bachelor’s Degree

·         AZ State Project Management Certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

·         Experience with Continuous Improvement or LEAN is preferred.

·         Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
