Overview:
The organization is in search of an API Security Technical Project Manager who possesses a robust technical background and leadership skills to drive the success of comprehensive API security initiatives across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee ongoing governance and engagement with API stakeholders to ensure adherence to threat-based requirements.
- Establish, communicate, and maintain API security standards and design frameworks.
- Assess the implementation of API security measures against the results from vulnerability assessment tools to ensure compliance and accountability.
- Act as a technical consultant for application teams regarding API security.
- Promote best practices in API security design.
- Collaborate as a subject matter expert in API security within the organization.
Technical and Security Expertise:
- Hands-on experience in developing and securing web APIs and applications, including REST, SOAP, and gRPC.
- Experience in security testing for web services and APIs.
- Proficient in leading threat modeling sessions for applications and services.
- Solid understanding of risk management, security architecture, and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
- Strong knowledge of API identity and access management controls, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and JWT.
- Familiarity with cryptographic controls for data security.
- Experience with industry standards and frameworks such as NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, OWASP, and SANS Top 25.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java and JavaScript, as well as mobile application development.
- Understanding of database architectures, including Oracle, SQL, and NoSQL.
- Possession of relevant information security certifications such as SANS GIAC, CISSP, or CISM.
- Experience with service-oriented architectures and web services security.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in mentoring teams on application security and secure development practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies in a Cloud/SaaS environment.
- Experience in architecting and securing public cloud environments, including AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.
- Knowledge of emerging programming languages such as Go or Rust.
