The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring products through the complete production cycle. They ensure that production processes are executed efficiently, and the company’s inventory levels are maintained to meet customer demand. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the cosmetic products are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and are delivered on time to meet customer satisfaction. The Production Scheduler is at the heart of manufacturing operations, collaborating across departments to align production with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning and Scheduling: 65%
- Develop detailed production schedules in line with factory capacity and material availability.
- Prioritize production orders and allocate resources to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Adjust schedules as needed based on production issues, equipment maintenance, or changing demands.
2. Inventory Management: 20%
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate reorders to avoid production delays and stockouts.
- Work closely with warehouse personnel to optimize material flow to the production lines.
3. Coordination and Communication: 10%
- Collaborate with various departments including procurement, quality control, and sales to ensure a smooth production process.
- Communicate any schedule changes to relevant stakeholders and mitigate potential impacts.
- Act as a point of contact for all queries related to production schedules.
4. Reporting and Analysis: 5%
- Maintain records of production data, including volume produced, resources used, and production timelines.
- Analyze production metrics and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Prepare regular reports for management on production status and inventory levels.
5. Compliance and Quality Control: 5%
- Ensure all production activities comply with company standards and quality specifications.
- Participate in quality audits and coordinate corrective actions with the quality department.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Production Scheduler or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in cosmetics.
- Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in production planning software and MS Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex situations.
