Communications Manager

We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Communications Manager & Associate Magazine Editor. This multifaceted position involves overseeing communications, content creation, writing, editing, and proofreading for various departments within our association. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set and excel in member communication across multiple channels, including email, social media, podcasts, video production, press releases, NAEDA Community, and magazine content creation and curation.
Communications Manager Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the VP of Member Engagement to develop and execute strategic communications and marketing plans aimed at enhancing the visibility of NAEDA and associated brands.
- Ensure all public-facing copies align with the strategic communications plan.
- Assist in crafting and distributing electronic communications such as website updates, newsletters, press releases, NAEDA Community, and social media content.
- Curate engaging content and foster audience interaction on NAEDA's digital platforms.
- Maintain equipmentdealermagazine.com with fresh content from various sources.
- Act as the primary liaison for media interactions, fostering relationships to secure coverage of industry-relevant topics and NAEDA events.
- Aid in managing social media campaigns for various departments, advertisers, and partners.
- Assist with additional association tasks and projects as needed.
- Attend specific events to gather information for magazine content.
- Conduct podcast and video interviews including editing and publishing
Associate Magazine Editor Responsibilities:
- Support the managing editor in publication-related tasks.
- Review submitted content for accuracy, style, grammar, and coherence.
- Conduct thorough research and fact-checking for articles and features.
- Collaborate with designers, writers, and photographers to ensure cohesive publication standards.
- Edit and proofread articles for publication, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Contribute written content to the magazines as needed through interviews, research, and expert collaboration.
- Manage submissions and deadlines for U.S. content contributors.
- Manage U.S. magazine advertising submissions for each issue.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or Communications.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in communications roles.
- Experience using various design tools such as Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Premier, etc.
- Very strong proofing and writing skills.
- Proficiency in web editing, social media management, and ad campaign coordination.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive and professional demeanor.
