Job DescriptionJob Description

The Project Manager provides direction for all aspects of assigned projects, managing project costs to ensure completion within budget expectations, developing the project schedule in critical path steps & budget time required to meet deadlines, and providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with all quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the proper management of several projects at once
  • Manage compliance with contracts, specifications, and regulations.
  • Project start-up activities
  • Subcontract negotiations
  • Scheduling and coordination of subcontracts
  • Project cost accounting
  • Building materials procurement
  • Submittals, RFI’s, and Change order processes
  • Liaison with GCs, Architects, Suppliers, Superintendents, etc.
  • Track projects ensuring they are on time and on budget
  • Identify and prepare change orders
  • Preparing monthly payment applications
  • Maintain good relations with clients and their agents

Experience:

  • 5+ years in underground utility construction (residential, commercial, TxDOT, and municipal) as a project manager, or similar role

Education:

  • 4-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field (Preferred but not required if experienced)

Required Skills:

  • Organized
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook
  • AutoCAD
  • HCSS HeavyJob
  • Viewpoint Spectrum
  • Scheduling
  • Able to read and interpret construction plans and related documents
  • Familiar with permitting processes for construction
  • Effectively communicate with clients, municipalities, engineers, etc.
