Bloom Kitchen & Co. is a new branded concept and 100% Plant-Base quick service restaurant with a drive thru. We are looking for a passionate Chef Manager to lead our plant-based restaurant in Oxford, CT. While our candidate does not have to be 100% plant-based themselves, a passion for this growing demand and market will be important. Are you ready for a change? Our company is searching for an experienced and hard-working Vegan Chef Manager to lead our culinary team to service excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full culinary & management of food service operation
  • Proficient in menu development, cost controls, purchasing and inventory with a focus on sourcing and utilizing local food products
  • Responsible for creating, supporting, and executing the menu and weekly specials, including food cost.
  • Helping with hiring and training the culinary staff. Leading by example and maintaining an open line of communication.
  • An immaculate and well-organized kitchen, as well as a positive and professional atmosphere, must always be maintained.
  • The Chef Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as state health and safety regulations.
  • The Chef Manager will also take responsibility for scheduling the kitchen staff as well as maintaining labor goals for the full QSR.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have a working knowledge of HACCP Serve Safe Certified
  • Possesses a passion for vegan/plant-based food, career, and sustainability
  • Three years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining setting, or restaurant with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
  • Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Experience with exposition cooking needed
  • Minimum of 2-3 years current experience as a Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Head Line Chef, QSR manager or General Manager.
  • Certificate or degree in Culinary Arts & Management preferred
  • High volume background in a quick service with drive thru environment
  • Prior Vegan/Vegetarian Chef & Management experience preferred
  • Possess a passion for culinary excellence with incredible skill to create exciting new dishes
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays in addition to normal business hours, as needed
  • Must be highly innovative, curious and have a passion to create
  • This is a hands-on with hiring, training, and managing hourly employees
  • Ability to maintain high levels of food quality, consistency, and hygiene
  • Chef Manager candidate must be proficient with financials (P&L's, inventory, food/labor cost)

 

Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) (REQUIRED)
