Job Summary:

The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising daily activities for children in a daycare setting. They must ensure the well-being, safety, and educational development of the children under their care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Planning: Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

2. Child Supervision: Provide constant supervision to ensure the safety and security of all children in the classroom.

3. Daily Routine: Establish and maintain a structured daily routine, including meal times, nap times, and playtime, to ensure a consistent and comfortable environment.

4. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, needs, and daily experiences.

5. Health and Hygiene: Ensure children follow proper hygiene practices and assist with diapering, toileting, and handwashing as needed.

6. Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior management techniques and teach children social skills and conflict resolution.

7. Learning Environment: Set up an engaging and well-organized learning environment with age-appropriate materials, toys, and resources.

8. Documentation: Keep accurate records of children's development, activities, and any incidents, and report them to the appropriate authorities or parents as necessary.

9. Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education through ongoing training and professional development.

10. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and follow daycare policies and procedures, including evacuation plans.

11. Changing diapers, cleaning the entire room to include sanitation of each toy, vacuuming the room, wiping down the tables, chairs and emptying garbage.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education degree or certification is preferred.

- Previous experience in a childcare or early education setting.

- CPR and First Aid certification.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.

Working Conditions:

- Typically works full-time, with varying shifts to accommodate daycare hours.

- May involve standing, bending, and lifting during daily activities.

- Requires the ability to interact with children on their level, including sitting on the floor, and engage in physical play.
