Baty Otto Scheer P.C. is seeking a highly qualified Litigation Associate to join its Litigation Practice in the firm’s St. Louis office. Candidates should have general litigation experience. Pay is competitive and will depend on your experience and discussed during the interview.

Successful candidates should have excellent academic credentials, as well as advanced communication, writing (a writing sample is requested), and analytical skills. The candidate must be self-motivated with the drive and the ability and confidence to work independently.

Licensure in Missouri is necessary, and membership in the Illinois Bar is a plus. We will work with candidates who can qualify to obtain licenses in both states. Interested candidates should submit a resume, law transcript, and cover letter.

Baty Otto Scheer P.C. participates in the E-Verify Program.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to develop case strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and obligations
- Stay current with changes in laws and regulations that may impact client cases

Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in the state where the position is located
- Preferably 1-2 years of experience practicing law, preferably in litigation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent research and analytical abilities
- Demonstrated ability to draft legal documents and conduct legal research
- Proven track record of success in litigating cases
