Event Manager

St Kilda Collective, a full-service restaurant and private event space located in Historic Valley Junction, West Des Moines, is looking for an experienced Event Manager to join our team
Not only will the Event Manager be responsible for the events that take place at St Kilda Collective, but also at our other restaurant locations in Des Moines/Clive if booked, as well as manage catering orders.
This is the perfect job for someone who likes to work independently, but also can efficiently communicate and be proactive in managing the events from start to finish Typical events are for no more than 100 guests, most are between 20-50 guests.
Applicant must have, and will be responsible for:
- Have a degree in hospitality/event management
- Proficient in Caterease software, able to create BEO’s
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Must have a sense of urgency
- Must be organized and self-sufficient
- Must be able to communicate clearly with others to get the job done
- Communicate with potential clients via email, phone, and in-person
- Respond to inquiries and follow through with booking events
- Take rental payments, and process payments based on schedule in contract
- Prepare for the event prior, working alongside kitchen staff
- Work the event day of, which includes greeting, hosting, serving, and managing event start to finish
- Set-up and tear down of event spaces
- Ordering stock for event, including bar/liquor stock, some paper products, and disposables
