JOB SUMMARY

The Engagement Initiatives Delivery Driver is responsible for the pickup and delivery of food and supplies to meal packing events, and other initiative events. This includes loading and unloading trucks, driving to scheduled events using an OMC truck and trailer, helping deliver/set up items, and other event related tasks, as assigned.

Position schedule: This is a PRN position that is scheduled for events as needed. The schedule is typically known approximately six weeks in advance of an event. Pickups for event prep will normally be on a Friday, or other weekday. The events are on Saturday and Sunday, with a few exceptions.

Travel: The events involve day trips or overnight travel with up to four nights away, typically over a weekend.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Driving a sprinter van and trailer to and from locations for event supply delivery and pickup.
  • Driving a 26-foot truck with lift gate to and from locations for event supply delivery and pickup.
  • Loading and unloading supplies and equipment needed for related events, including operating the truck lift gate, and a forklift as necessary.
  • Walking and standing at events to provide support for supply delivery.
  • Planning drive times and organizing work to ensure on time delivery and met needs of planned event.
  • Cleaning and organizing packing supplies.
  • Working closely with an Engagement Initiatives Assistant and Coordinator(s) on events to ensure timely arrival of materials and organizing accordingly.
  • Supporting the Assistant and Coordinators with leading events as needed.
  • Other duties to support the Engagement Initiatives, as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License and clear driving record

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience driving extended distances in an oversized vehicle.
  • Experience handling deliveries.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift to 50 pounds. The employee is required to use hands and arms to hold, feel, reach and carry. The employee is regularly required to walk, bend, twist, stoop, or kneel while handling deliveries and pickups. Walking and standing can occur for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include far and close vision needed for driving. The ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle, and to drive for this time frame, is also essential.

This job requires the ability to work in stressful conditions from time to time and remain focused on the assigned tasks within deadlines.

Job functions are performed in a warehouse setting, deliveries have different structures from buildings to warehouses, and travel is done driving, sometimes long distances, into other states.
