Goodwill Industries of Arkansas is now hiring a Reentry Services Manager to be based in our Little Rock, AR. Corporate office.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This position's primary responsibility is to manage the operations of the reentry programs which assists people with past incarceration and other disadvantages in becoming self-sufficient by providing leading edge services that create pathways to success. To fulfill this, the Reentry Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations for the reentry and TEO programs while developing service and resource partnerships and employment opportunities in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Hires, trains and manages program staff responsible for the daily operation of reentry activities and is responsible for the consistent programmatic operation of transitional employment, mission supports, job placement, and business outreach as it pertains to reentry services across the agency. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.

2. Supports department leadership in developing staff goals and program goals and objectives that support the attainment of those goals set forth in the organization's strategic plan. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

3. Serves as liaison to community leaders and service organizations, government agencies, and business partners for the purpose of 1) identifying barriers and threats to successful reentry experiences, 2) developing the necessary support services and resources for persons served in reentry programs at Goodwill, and 3) establishing relationships with second chance employers to create career pathways for program graduates. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.

4. Develops relationships with state and federal governmental agencies to develop clear and definitive transition pathways for individuals preparing to exit incarceration and engage in community reintegration. This duty is performed weekly, about 15% of the time.

5. Supervises the design and facilitation of educational and training programs for staff and persons served, as determined from data collection, needs assessments, program surveys, etc. Assumes responsibility for staff knowledge of and adherence to client privacy rights and HIPAA requirements. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

6. Provides monthly progress reports to supervisor for each reentry program and service, including activities specific to grant programs, employer partnerships, and staffing. Recommends actions necessary to improve performance outcomes and develop staff in the profession. This duty is
performed monthly, about 10% of the time.

7. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • 5+ years' experience in public service or human resources.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Communications, Criminology, or any related field.
  • Master's degree preferred (MBA, MPA, MPP, MSW, or MA/MS in related field.
  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and respect the needs of persons with mental illness, disabilities, past incarceration and/or other barriers to employment.
  • Knowledge of client privacy rights and HIPAA requirements and adherence to them.
  • Ability to provide vocational counseling, build self-esteem, access resources, and network.
  • Awareness of the need for confidentiality, professional ethics and code of conduct.
  • Ability to travel within Goodwill's designated region as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employers, clients, supervisors, and the general public.
