Job Summary

Hanover Bank is looking for a Senior Vendor Risk Analyst. The Senior Vendor Risk Analyst supports the Senior Information Security Officer by overseeing Third Party and Vendor Risk Management within the Bank, performing and reviewing vendor risk assessments with business units, and maintaining current information within the Bank's Vendor Management software.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Vendor Assessment and Selection:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments of potential vendors including due diligence.
  • Evaluate vendors' financial and service stability, compliance with regulations, and overall risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with business lines, IT, Information Security, and legal to ensure alignment of vendor contracts with risk management policies.

Risk Monitoring and Mitigation:

  • Continuously monitor vendor performance and risk levels through regular reviews and audits.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all vendor interactions, assessments, and remediations.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all vendor activities comply with banking regulations and internal policies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust vendor risk management practices accordingly.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management regarding vendor risk profiles and compliance status.

Relationship Management:

  • Foster strong relationships with vendors to facilitate transparent communication and effective risk management.
  • Act as the main point of contact for vendors regarding risk-related queries and issues.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to address and resolve any vendor-related risks promptly.

Policy Development:

  • Develop, update, and enforce vendor risk management policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on vendor risk management best practices.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new risk management tools and techniques.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor risk management, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of banking regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and third-party risk management frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using risk management software and tools.
