Job DescriptionJob Description

Johnson Service Group is searching for 2 Assemblers for our client in Plymouth, MN; the hours for these positions are 6am-2:30pm.  Additional details about the job include:

Role:

  • Performs repetitive mechanical assembly involving sensitive or precise dexterous movements to maintain pace and quality of assembly work
  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality
  • Successfully completes all site-specific training regarding safety and quality
  • Receives components or items for assembly and/or test in programmed sequence
  • Assembles and/or tests mechanical or electrical components by means of sensitive hand and equipment coordination
  • May assemble minor variations of in-house standard products
  • Follows clear assembly/test instructions, e.g. color code, PVC thermal welding and thread taping
  • Uses simple hand or power tools along with uncomplicated jigs and fixtures
  • Completes required documentation related to production
  • Drives continuous improvement process and conducts daily housekeeping/5S audits to ensure continuous improvement activities
  • Reads and understands simple layout and assembly drawings
  • Maintains equipment and area in clean safe condition

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude as evidenced by work experience, high school/tech school coursework, hobbies, etc.
  • Worker must have their own safety boots (safety eyewear will be provided)
  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis
  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis
  • Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and written

Desired:

  • Candidates with previous mechanical assembly experience

 

These are 6 month contract opportunities and the selected candidates will be W2 employees of Johnson Service Group and will be able to elect Health, Vision, and Dental benefits if they choose. These positions pay $19.00/hour.
