Our client, a software development and services firm is in search of a Desktop End User Support professional for a contract to hire opportunity in Concord, CA We are looking for an avid learner who is interested in growing with the company. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and an interest in documentation. This is a team environment with the need for individuals to work independently and support the team with full documentation of matters completed. We are looking for someone with a depth of understanding of group policies and the ability to research matters on a regular basis. The hourly pay is between $30.00 - $40.00.

POSITION:

  • Responsible for problem resolution, analysis, specifications, configurations, coordination, testing, and installation of technological equipment. This includes laptops and mobile device-based hardware, software, peripherals, local area networks (LANs), and other related end user equipment.
  • Will respond to Service Desk tickets, incoming in person requests/ calls / emails, escalated end user help requests within established service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Will use diagnostic tools, help request tracking tools, providing in-person, hands-on assistance at desktop level, including password resets, and after hours on-call emergency support
  • They will assist in the development of computer and mobile devices systems standards that are: secure, robust, cost-effective, and meet the functional needs of the client company.
  • Work to provide support in the maintenance of asset control and adherence to departmental and system policy directives while maintaining the highest level of data security.
  • Will provide technical training and knowledge transfer to department personnel and colleagues.
  • Will identify problem areas in a timely and accurate manner, and provide end user training and assistance where required.
  • Supports development and implementation of new IT projects and new hardware installations.
  • Will recommend schedules, and performs PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Will work with 3rd party services that manages licenses and backups and other support services for IT department


SKILLS:

  • Desktop Support (Windows/Linux) Providing hardware, software, network, and endpoint security tool support (SentinelOne, Beyond Trust, etc.) for Windows and Linux devices.
  • Jira Ticket Management/Escalations (Incident & Request) Provide help desk queue management expertise and strong ITSM process knowledge. (Jira Service Manager, Jira and Confluence)
  • Active Directory/Local Provisioning (Entra) Maintain users, groups and distribution lists.
  • Excellent documentation skills that accurately documents instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
  • File & Print Management skills for provisioning and troubleshooting
  • Hardware and Software Deployment: Desktop and laptop imaging and software deployment they have DELL laptops
  • Endpoint Systems: Management of modern workplace management tools (O365, Intune, JAMF)


Culture and Office Expectations:

  • This is an estimated 3-month contract to hire position
  • Business Hours of 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
  • This position will be on site Monday through Friday for several months and will eventually, revert to a hybrid role of in office 3 days a week and WFH two days a week
  • Excellent communication skills needed to provide service to onsite and remote employees
  • Reports to IT Director
  • On site daily for at least two months then move to hybrid


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
  • Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
