Summary:
Our company is looking for a skilled Project Manager with engineering theory and technical skills who can support manufacturing activities. As an integral part of the manufacturing function, you will break down complex projects into a series of manageable and well-defined activities that can be controlled and monitored in order to meet the project's objectives and deliverables.

Responsibilities:
·       Create layouts, drawings, and sketches, including shop tooling, scale layouts, using drafting equipment or computer-aided design programs.
·       Identifying the requirements and expectations of the project.
·       Establish project objectives, guidelines, deliverables, and metrics.
·       Identify required submittals from the customer and work with the team to meet the submission deadline.
·       Establish a schedule for the project.
·       The ability to plan, estimate, and/or schedule shop work.
·       Prepare and submit purchase orders for raw materials, hardware, outside processes, etc.
·       Identify areas of improvement in quality, cost, or efficiency.
·       Identify ways to reduce losses, decrease time requirements, or improve quality by monitoring or measuring manufacturing processes.
·       Ensure that safety practices and rules are adhered to.
 

Qualifications and Skills:
·       A minimum of three to five years of manufacturing experience is required. It would be advantageous to have experience in a machine shop or job shop.
·       Possess a degree in manufacturing engineering or possess significant experience in the field.
·       A solid understanding of machine tools, their uses, capabilities, and work holding techniques is essential.
·       An understanding of the principles, tools, and techniques involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings as well as 3D computer-aided design models.
·       The ability to understand raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the efficiency of manufacture and distribution of goods.
·       The ability to apply management principles in the areas of strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of both people and resources.
·       Understand the capabilities of the majority of machine tools.
·       An understanding of ASME, ASTM, MIL, and ANSI codes would be an added advantage.
·       Proficient use of SolidWorks will be an asset.
·       Competent in the use of Microsoft office products, especially Excel and Project.
·       A strong sense of organization and effective communication are required.
·       Preferably possessing a PMP license or certification.
