We are searching for a Litigation Paralegal to add to our team The right candidate for this position will come with at least 3 years of Litigation and Insurance Defense experience. You must be comfortable handling a case from start to finish and also be able to help walk a brand-new person through the process.

Our firm has a large support staff, so you will be responsible for primarily billable work and will have a support staff to handle the administrative duties. This person will be responsible for managing the desk for 3-4 attorneys.

 

Job Duties Include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to manage cases from onset through trial, to include:
  • Ensuring all documents are saved in the proper case files.
  • Preparing and responding to discovery.
  • Reviewing and summarizing medical, financial, tax, and employment records.
  • Reviewing and summarizing of deposition transcripts.
  • Drafting of motions and pleadings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Promptly respond to all client inquiries and continually manage client communications and coordinate with attorneys as needed.
  • Draft legal documents under the direction of the attorney
  • Ability to use online legal research platforms to investigate opposing parties, prior litigation history, social media, etc.
  • Trial preparation including, identification and preparation of exhibits and charts, trial notebooks, assisting with designations of deposition testimony, deposition summaries, orders of proof, and jury instructions, preparing witness and exhibit lists, verdict forms, and trial subpoenas, and other key pre-trial filings.
  • Experience with billing and time entry.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Litigation and Insurance Defense Experience
  • Trial Prep Experience
  • Billing Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in paralegal studies (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong organizational skills and Attention to Detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and legal data management systems and billing applications.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, federal and state rules of legal procedure.
  • Experience in case management from inception to trial or settlement.
