Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary: The Diesel Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and inspecting cranes, vehicles, and equipment to ensure their operational efficiency and safety. This position is key to supporting the successful outcomes of our projects by ensuring that equipment is in optimal working condition.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Conduct comprehensive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on cranes, vehicles, and other equipment.
· Diagnose mechanical issues and determine the necessary repairs or adjustments.
· Work closely with Fleet Manager and Foreman to ensure equipment is maintained and ready for use.
· Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
· Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
· Travel to job sites as needed for on-site repairs and maintenance.
· Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including checking lights, oil, and addressing leaks.
· Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
· Knowledge of hydraulic systems and Paccar engines.
· Experience with vehicle, truck, and forklift maintenance.
· Ability to diagnose electrical harness issues.
· Proficiency with vehicle computer systems and reading electrical schematics.
· Willingness to occasionally work overtime and weekends.
· Familiarity with various crane types, including Groves, National, and Manitex.
· Experience operating a forklift.
· Strong background in heavy-duty mechanics.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Class B License.
· Diesel program certification.
· Dealership certification.
· Certification from an accredited program.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged standing
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Must be able to work in all weather conditions
Work Schedule:
· Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
· Monday – Friday
· Occasionally work Overtime and Weekends
