Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Overview

The Diesel Mechanic will be tasked with executing routine maintenance and repair tasks on heavy machinery and off-road vehicles, in addition to performing minor repairs on light-duty trucks.

Primary Duties:

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance activities including oil changes, lubrication of moving parts, and filter replacements on both heavy machinery and light-duty trucks.
  • Perform minor repairs on components such as starters, alternators, braking systems, belts, hoses, windshield wipers, and gasoline engines.
  • Complete necessary documentation and safety inspections for all machinery.
  • Assist in the repair, adjustment, and inventory management of heavy equipment.
  • Transport vehicles to various work sites and service providers.
  • Support senior mechanics with related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • At least six months of relevant work experience.
  • Possession of a Texas Class 'A' Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient knowledge of automotive and heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the role.
