A&K is a leading supplier of railroad track and related materials that seeks a driven individual to fill a Data Analyst & Purchasing Coordinator position for KCK. This individual will be offered the opportunity to learn hands on, many aspects of the railroad track material business. The Data Analyst & Purchasing Coordinator at A&K is responsible for forecasting and purchasing new rail in addition to continued broad analytical support for the organization and the A&K executive team. This position will have the opportunity to suggest future initiatives for A&K to consider as well as:


Key tasks

  • Develop and implement recommendations for supply chain management optimization
  • Negotiate pricing details with vendors
  • Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports
  • Monitor inventory levels across the United States and coordinate purchases as needed
  • Learn A&K’s reporting software and support other internal purchasing groups
Requirements:

  • Analytical mind with a flair for numbers and Excel
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and vendors
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must demonstrate excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • An understanding of supply chain operations
  • Preferred experience with programming languages (SQL, C++, Python, Etc.)
  • Previous exposure with complex macros
  • Preferred familiarity with Selenium Basic for VBA
  • A solid understanding of Excel and VBA programming for Excel
