Job Summary: The Paralegal reports directly to the Attorney and is responsible for professional, efficient, and comprehensive case support. As a Paralegal team member you will assist in developing cases, coordinate with clients and attorneys, draft documents, organize files and schedules, and assist attorneys in trial preparations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing cases.
- Conduct client interviews.
- Gathering documents.
- Draft correspondence, subpoenas, discovery, agreements, pleadings, etc.
- Organization of physical and computer files.
- Scheduling appointments, depositions, mediations, court hearings, etc.
- Monitor calendars and deadlines.
- Regularly communicate progress of cases to both client and attorney.
- Trial Preparation.
- Organize evidence and exhibits.
- Schedule witnesses.
- Assist attorneys at hearings.
- Participate in educational opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 2 years paralegal experience. 5 years is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage projects.
- Proven professional communications, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong team contributor and collaborator.
- Adaptable to a changing work environment as our firm continues to grow.
- Proficient with legal databases and timekeeping software (Clio and Office 365 a plus).
- Knowledge of Microsoft and Apple computers.
- Comfortable with adapting to new technology for increased firm productivity.
- Motivated and accountable.
- Desire to contribute to firm growth and continuous improvement.
