What will the Staff Account do?

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.

What is the Staff Accountant responsible for?

  1. General Ledger Maintenance:
    • Prepare and process journal entries, including all payroll, recurring journal entries, and month end accrual journal entries.
    • Process all payment journals and reconcile all bank accounts.
    • Review and Post Accounts Payable vouchers, Journal Entries, and Payment Journals.
    • Compile and process payment and returns for FET Tax. Maintain files with supporting documents.
    • Maintain and reconcile multiple general ledger accounts.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  2. Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of financial analyses as needed.
    • Provide support during internal and external audits.
  3. Compliance:
    • Stay current with accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of internal controls.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments to gather and provide financial information.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes and efficiency.

What knowledge, skills and abilities required for the Staff Accountant role?

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  2. Minimum 3-5 Years of experience in accounting or related fields.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  4. Knowledge of Business Central is a plus.
  5. Excel knowledge is helpful.
  6. Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Comfortable in making decisions.
  8. Must be organized.
  9. Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.
  10. Confidentiality a must.
  11. Comfortable working in a high-stress environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  12. Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships.
  13. Strong communication skills (oral, written and listening).
  14. Team player.
  15. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy a must.
  16. Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when performing essential duties. Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions and stressed dispatchers and auto haulers.
  17. Work may require more than 40 hours per week.
