Job DescriptionJob Description

Aerotek is seeking contract controls engineers for a company located south of Jackson, TN.  These contracts will be a minimum of 6 months and per diem is available for people located over 60 miles.  Pay is dependent on experience and ranges from $40-$55/hr.  Please apply for immediate consideration or email resumes to jchampio@aerotek.com.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Robotics, preferably FANUC, programming and maintenance experience and certification required
  • PLC troubleshooting, editing, and programming
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and industrial codes & standards
  • Demonstrated experience with programmable logic equipment and associated peripherals
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 & NFPA 495
  • General understanding of industrial networks, specifically Ethernet/IP
  • Understanding older legacy networks is a plus (ControlNet, DeviceNet, DH+, Modbus, etc.)
  • Report writing and general understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Installs, configures, programs, tests, and repairs programmable logic equipment and associated peripherals
  • Makes changes to existing control logic and operator interface programs
  • Assists in implementation of new control systems
  • Installs and configures programming terminals
  • Maintains data structure of the terminals used to monitor PLC programs and operate machinery
  • Installs, tests, and repairs electrical controls components
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and apply knowledge of functional operation of machinery and electrical control units and systems
  • Assist maintenance in identifying defective components and wiring, and adjusting mechanical parts
  • Align, adjust and calibrate control components
  • Maintains records of repairs, calibrations and tests
  • Performs programming and troubleshooting of PLC controllers
  • Reads schematics and OEM specifications in order to program, configure and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment
