Bison Innovative Products, a division of RPM International (NYSE:RPM), is seeking for a full-time CAD and Technical Services Technician who is experienced and highly motivated. This position will take an active role in assisting in the CAD drafting and design preparation of schematic layouts, shop drawings and design documents.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Assists in the CAD drafting and design preparation of schematic layouts, shop drawings and design documents. Reports to the Senior CAD Technician, in support of the Sales team and in conjunction with Research and Design and other departments at Bison. The responsibilities below are an outline only; one of the critical functions of any successful Bison employee is the willingness and ability to contribute as needed to the general success of the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft schematic layouts and design details for customer projects
  • Design and modification of CAD Details for existing and new products
  • Create shop drawings and technical details as requested by leadership team
  • Read and interpret customer-provided drawing sets
  • Communicate with sales teams for information availability, technical support and quoting effectiveness
  • Provide customer service with end-users and resellers regarding building specifications, product details, technical concerns, and ordering procedures
  • Communicate with leadership team tracking of information
  • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects & tasks in a timely manner

SKILLS

  • Architectural & Engineering Design Capabilities
  • Awareness and Understanding Building Codes & Specifications
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Solidworks, Autodesk, SmartDraw, CATIA & Other Industry Used Design Software
  • Mechanical & Structural Awareness & Understanding
  • Effective Written & Oral Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Bi-Lingual In English and Spanish – Not Required But Preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree (Focus: Mechanical or Structural Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Design)
  • 1-3 Years of Architectural/Engineering Design Applications
  • Proficient in Measurements, Strength of Materials, and Data Analytics
  • Proficient in Design Software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged Periods Sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time
  • May be asked to travel for training for support purposes
