Job DescriptionJob Description

Under the general direction of the EHS Manager, participates in the development and implementation of environmental, health, safety, security and regulatory compliance programs. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and standards involving environmental management, chemical control, industrial hygiene, general safety and fire safety. Reports all worker’s compensation claims against the company. Reviews and analyzes data to suggest ideas for improving the EHS program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain Safety Smart Sheet [Add new incidents (with attachments), Close Items (with attachments)]
  2. Report necessary claims to worker’s compensation insurance group
  3. Participate in monthly Safety Patrol activity (add items to Audit Smart Sheet)
  4. Participate in incident investigation (help determine Man, Machine, Material, Method)
  5. Participate in 4M buy-off for all departments
  6. Develop Safety Alerts for all Recordable Injuries (Send to Jeff for approval/distribution)
  7. Develop Safety OPL when needed (Send to Jeff for approval/distribution)
  8. Maintain Safety Commitment spreadsheet and generate report
  9. Maintain Safety Sam poster for site (Update weekly-minimum)
  10. Maintain inventory of First Aid supplies and reorder when needed
  11. General First Aid for injuries on shift
  12. Trainer for First Aid/CPR/AED
  13. Generate medical file for all new associates
  14. Communicate with security guards when necessary (Both Nissan and Topre sites)
  15. Communicate with cleaning crew when necessary (if available)
  16. Onsite drug screens (new hire/random/post-accident)
  17. Manage annual audiograms/flu shots
  18. FMLA management
  19. New equipment inspection to ensure it meets safety standards/requirements
  20. Support Onsite activities
  21. Travel as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all departments and associates.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all Topre site/representatives
  • Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise.
  • Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Skill in developing safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of risk management issues related to the design and construction of physical facilities.
  • Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, PowerPoint
