Low Voltage Technician:
A Low Voltage Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including security, surveillance, telecommunications, audio-visual, and automation systems. The technician ensures that these systems operate efficiently, meet safety standards, and satisfy internal team requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure low voltage systems such as security cameras, access control, fire alarm, intercom, and audio-visual equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with low voltage equipment and systems.
- Perform regular maintenance on low voltage systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Replace faulty components and repair wiring as needed.
- Perform quality assurance checks on installations to meet industry standards and client expectations.
- Document and report testing results.
- Work closely with other technicians, contractors, and project managers to coordinate installations and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and address concerns.
- Adhere to local and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- Relevant technical certifications or vocational training in low voltage systems.
- Previous experience in the installation and maintenance of low voltage systems is preferred.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with low voltage systems, including security, surveillance, telecommunications, and audio-visual equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in various physical environments.
