This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. Maintenance and repair include inspections, diagnostics and rebuilds of compact equipment systems and components. Duties will be performed in-shop and in the field.

EDUCATION

1) High School Diploma or equivalent

2) Related Maintenance experience

3) Trade School or Manufacturer sponsored training a plus

YEARS AND RELATED TYPE EXPERIENCE

1) Minimum 18 years old

2) Must own tools applicable to the position

3) Active applicable state class driver’s license

4) One or two years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment or trade school graduate

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1) Activities require handling and grasping with hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, hardware, electronic controls and other small parts

2) Use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal on equipment to test operation

3) Frequent lifting of 25 lbs., occasional lifting of 50 lbs. up to 75 lbs.

4) Exposure to loud noise, dust, gas or fumes

5) Work in unprotected weather elements

6) Ability to wear hearing and eye protection as required

7) Ability to bend and kneel for prolonged periods of time

8) Ability to climb over and into heavy equipment several times per day

9) Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for the majority of work day.

DUTIES

1) Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhere to safety procedures

2) Follow standard operating procedures

3) Maintain paperwork documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basis as well as documentation of labor time

4) Clean equipment

5) Perform, in a safe manner, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs that involve mechanical, hydraulic, diesel and electrical systems.

6) Perform routine maintenance and repairs with little or no supervision

7) Perform major maintenance and repairs with the supervision of senior tech or service manager

8) Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations for height, weight and width

9) Assist with deliveries

10) Prepare new and used equipment for sale or rental

11) Pickup and delivery of equipment and parts from outside vendors and other locations for sale or repair

12) Communicate with associates in service or other departments in regard to troubleshooting and repair parts needed

13) Provide assistance to other techs as needed

14) Maintain positive customer relations through professional customer interactions

15) Familiarize and demonstrate equipment for customers

16) Other duties as assigned/required
