HVAC Technician (Refrigeration)
Fall River, MA
2nd Shift
$70-80k/yr based on experience

$2000 - SIGN ON BONUS

The Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for proactively maintaining commercial cold storage rooms in Fall River location. Oversee the safe operation, daily monitoring and maintenance of our industrial ammonia refrigeration system. Responsible for repair and maintenance of all areas pertaining to the upkeep and efficient operation of all refrigeration, chiller, cooling and freezing systems. In the event of an absence, position will be filled by adequately trained personnel.

The Refrigeration Technician will have Specific Tasks such as:

  • Follow program of ongoing preventative maintenance for refrigeration systems.
  • Plan and implement process improvements, complete assigned projects in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergencies during or after work hours
  • Work on weekends as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies needed for upkeep.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities of the Refrigeration Technician

  • High technical ability. Demonstrated experience with maintaining electrical or mechanical equipment. Familiarity with refrigeration chemicals and proper cleaning procedures.
  • Being able to work with a fast-paced team in industrial environment.
  • Ability to provide facilities maintenance support as needed.
  • Being able to perform routine tasks at proper times while documenting completed work.
  • Experience in warehouse and cold storage, knowledge in supply chain management.
  • Being flexible to work on weekends and at nights. Interpersonal and communication skill.
  • Maintaining excellent attendance and reliable performance are very important.

Education, Experience and Certifications of the Refrigeration Technician

  • Prior experience in warehouse, refrigeration, cold storage, and preventive maintenance; exposure to supply chain management.
  • Certificate or Technical training in Ammonia Refrigeration
  • Optimal candidates PREFERABLY should have an Ammonia License, but license is NOT A REQUIREMENT
  • NEED to have an understanding of Ammonia systems operations
