We are looking for an experienced Sr Buyer for a leading company that specializes in the manufacturing of high-quality complex aerospace components and the production of precision machined parts for the aerospace and medical industry located in Anaheim, CA.

JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible to plan, schedule, release, and follow up on purchase orders in support of customer and internal demands.
• Ensure that demand is met by external buys of the right material and components, at the right price, at the right time, in the right quantity, in the right place.
• Proactively works and communicate across the organization to solve vendor or delivery issues.
• Positively affect On-Time Delivery (OTD), Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and jobs Late to Start

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for obtaining quotations/bids from suppliers in support of customer RFQs, production, and benchmarking projects.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Quality Departments to incorporate their input to purchase price estimates and RFQ’s.
• Using the MRP system, establish the required quantities and availability of materials and components needed to meet backlog demands. Release Purchase Orders accordingly.
• Proactively works and communicates across the organization on purchasing issues and material shortages. Identifies opportunities and actions needed to ensure deliveries and department objectives are met.
• Monitor and review assigned vendors for their performance against on-time delivery, quality, and PPV.
• Perform on-site Supplier visits to review capacity constraints, expedite open orders, & manage supplier relations.
• Follow up and expedite purchase orders as needed to achieve customer due dates. Reschedule purchase orders on order pushouts and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

• Transacts ERP transactions, purchase orders, and RTV orders according to established procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Strong Computer knowledge of MS office products such as Excel and Word.
• Capable to perform VLOOKUP’s and create Pivot Tables
• Strong understanding and experience with ERP systems. Knowledge of JobBoss is a plus.
• APICS, CPIM or CSCP Certification a plus.
• Ability to manage in a high mix/low volume manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of aerospace configuration management systems.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal, precision drawings, and written instructions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required to effectively present information, write reports, and process work instructions.

Compensation: $80 - $90K.
