Responsibilities:

  • System Design: Design and develop telecommunications systems, including voice, data, and video transmission technologies. Ensure the network architecture meets current and future operational needs.
  • Network Implementation: Oversee the installation, configuration, and optimization of telecommunications networks and systems, ensuring reliable and secure communication channels.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance of telecommunications systems and quickly troubleshoot any issues related to network performance, connectivity, or equipment.
  • System Upgrades: Evaluate and implement system upgrades and improvements to enhance network efficiency and performance. Stay up-to-date with the latest telecommunications technologies and trends.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure the timely delivery and quality of telecommunications services. Manage equipment procurement and vendor contracts.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and upgrades. Prepare technical reports and provide updates to management.
  • Compliance: Ensure that telecommunications systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and security protocols, including FCC requirements and other relevant guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to support the organization’s telecommunications infrastructure needs. Coordinate with IT and network teams to ensure alignment and integration with broader technology strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or related telecommunications certifications) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications engineering or network design and implementation.
  • Skills: Proficiency in telecommunications technologies such as VoIP, wireless communications, fiber optics, and satellite systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, including those set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and other regulatory bodies.
