Job Description

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, organizing, and directing all field installation(s) performed by Super Sky Field Superintendents and/or subcontractors on new and repair/renovation jobsites. Ensure installation(s) and/or renovations/repairs are effectively executed within budgeted cost and time schedules to ensure positive profitability. In addition, Field Operations Manager position is the key intermediary with the customer, owner, and/or general contractor and responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.      Review Jobs to be Installed by Subcontractors.

·         Maintain balance of workload between Super Sky and subcontractors.

·         Total responsibility for all Field Superintendents and ultimate responsibility for all subcontractors

2.      Schedule the Installation.

·         Maintain an up-to-date log on all jobs that are in-house and who will be installing.

·         Maintain a schedule board on jobs that are currently in fabrication and have received tentative start dates.

·         Contact Project Managers to confirm installation start date.

·         Inform subcontractors by Wednesday of the preceding week on all jobs to start the following week. On-going communication/contact is critical.

·         Develop/provide Super Sky Field Superintendents and subcontractors their respective jobsite schedules/start dates.

3.      Installations in Process.

·         Maintain communications with all Field Superintendents and subcontractors on the progress of each job.

·         Maintain a current blueprint for each job in progress; and distribute blueprint packages for each job that is scheduled to start.

·         When contacted by Field Superintendents and/or subcontractors, manage all problems that they encounter in the field. Handle all telephone calls/emails from contractors on all subject matters.

·         Follow up on all deliveries and provide them to the responsible party.

4.      Warranties and Call Backs

·         Handle all telephone calls, emails, correspondence, etc. requesting any warranty work.

·         Maintain records and schedule all warranty work with either subcontractor or Super Sky Field Superintendent; and follow-up with what was found and what was done.

·         Issue warranty repair numbers and generate file for Accounting Department.

5.      Assist/prepare estimates for Field upon request from the Estimating Department.

6.      Maintain files on all extra job work orders; issue all quotes, contracts, and confirmation letters for extras; follow-up on all paid replacement glass; schedule all work for pair replacement glass with subcontractors and/or Super Sky Field Superintendents.

7.      Inspection Work/Out-of-Warranty Skylight Systems

·         Review skylight systems that are out-of-warranty and prepare/send letters offering inspections

·         Inspection of out-of-warranty skylight systems performed by Field Superintendents.

8.      Investigate all back charges from subcontractors/contractors and approve/disapprove. Review/approve all invoices pertaining to the Field.

9.      Responsible for the direct supervision of Super Sky Field Superintendent, as well as the productivity and quality of work on each installation.

10.    Responsible for the safety and well-being of all field personnel; and ensuring the adherence of Super Sky’s Safety Policies and state/federal OSHA regulations.

Job Skill Requirements/Experience Requirements

·         Highly experienced in commercial construction industry.

·         Solid leadership orientation.

·         Shows initiative to immediately engage in situations that require prompt attention/resolution.

·         Excellent analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and look for solutions, strong conflict resolution skills.

·         Advanced financial analytical skills including cost control.

·         Excellent computer skills.

·         Bachelor’s degree or five (5) years of previous, relevant field operations management and supervisory experience.

Travel

·         Must be able to travel to jobsites, safety meetings with GCs, clients, owners, etc. with little to no advance notice provided.

·         Potentially twenty-five percent (25%) of job.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear.

The colleague must occasionally lift, push, or pull 25lbs up to 100lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The position is an office-based position with periodic visits to jobsites in the field. The colleague performs some work-related travel.
