Assistant Superintendent

Summary/Objective

Assistant Superintendent supports and helps on the construction site. Assistant superintendent’s responsibility is to maintain an orderly construction site, coordinate subcontractors, help manage materials delivery and support with all the equipment on site.

Essential Functions

• Helps organize and coordinate the work of all subcontractors and construction workers on site to ensure timely completion.
• Helps produce project schedules
• Monitors attendance of crews on-site
• Allocates general and daily responsibilities
• Performs site orientations
• Participates in safety training programs and makes sure all safety precautions are met
• Supervises materials delivery and the use of all machinery on-site
• Helps with coordination of all inspections
• Ensures safety rules are followed
• Ensures the construction site is always kept clean
• Resolves problems when they arise
• Reports on progress to managers, engineers, etc
• Performs other tasks as assigned

Competencies:

• Computer literate (proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Project)
• Communication proficiency
• Construction drawings reading skills
• Problem solving skills
• Teamwork oriented
• Residential experience is a plus

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in construction management or other related fields
• 10 years in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with construction management software
• Strong leadership qualities
• Strong negotiation skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
