Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant with specialized expertise in wound care to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting our healthcare providers in delivering high-quality wound care services to our patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference in patients' lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Nurse Practitioners to schedule visits to patient homes or healthcare facilities.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments, including wound evaluation, measurement, and documentation.
  • Assist in wound dressing changes, wound debridement, and other wound care procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques, preventive measures, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including wound assessment findings, treatment provided, and patient progress.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Some travel will be required but expenses and transportation will be provided.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with specific experience in wound care highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of wound care principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in wound assessment, measurement, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
