Materials Inspector

Salary: $19.50 - $20.00/hr. 

Location: Newburyport, MA 01950

Shift: 7am-3pm, M-F

 

Job Summary:

The Materials Inspector screens, visually inspects, measures and counts microelectronic piece parts including; die and wafer, caps, bases, lead frames and various other components for assembly build. This role includes Quality Assurance-level inspection responsibilities.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Inspects die and piece parts to various Military and Jedec standards using high and low power microscopes.
  • Follows defined specifications and reaction paths.
  • Uses multiple hand tools to manually process delicate products without damaging components.
  • Stocks and issues materials for assembly build.
  • Trains employees on specs and process used in area.
  • Maintains well-organized and audit ready work areas.
  • Utilizes computer-based manufacturing systems to move product and enter data.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally
  • Strong attention to detail

 

Required Skills:

  • Both high power or low power scopes
  • SAP systems for inventory
  • Inventory Skills and experience
  • Kitting Assembler background
  • Running a machine.
  • Lots of computer work and counting

 

Key highlights:

  • Counting> Basic skills involving counting many parts and materials
  • Inventory System> Experience with any type of inventory system, for ex SAP, Oracle ect..
  • Attention to detail> Need to make sure they are paying attention to part numbers, quantities and lot numbers
  • Adaptive to Change> Priorities can change within an hour so they will need to be able to pivot
  • Multi-Tasking> Need to be able to handle sometimes needing to do 1-2 things at the same time, not too much but needs to be ok with the possibility of it happening
  • Must be able to work in a Fast-Paced environment and prioritize
