Position Overview:

As a UI/UX Graphic Designer focused on retro video games, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital user interface experience of our products. You will collaborate closely with our design and development team to create captivating user interfaces that evoke the essence of 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit, and arcade gaming aesthetics. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of screen resolutions, digital color palettes, and be able to translate nostalgic gaming elements into modern, user-friendly interfaces. This position is located onsite at our Torrance, CA. headquarters.

Submission of a portfolio including projects that have reached mass-production is highly encouraged. To be considered for this position all applicants must send a resumé and portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for retro-style video game products across various screen resolutions and platforms.
  • Design and preparation of artwork assets.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design concepts and iterate based on feedback.
  • Ensure consistency in design language, style, and branding across all UI components.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices related to retro gaming UI/UX.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Graphic Designer, preferably in the gaming industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in designing user interfaces for retro video games.
  • Ability to create pixel art and sprite animations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent software.
  • Familiarity with building UIs for various screen resolutions and platforms.
  • Knowledgeable about 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit, and arcade digital color palettes.
  • Passion for video games, particularly retro gaming, with a deep understanding of gaming culture and history.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Digital Arts, or a related field.
  • Comfortable working onsite at our Torrance, CA office.
