This position has the responsibility for accurate and timely preparation and submission of all claims (electronic and paper) to intermediaries and third party carriers. This position will assist the management team with oversight of both the billing and cash application processes by serving as a liaison between the client and other departments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, Medical billing, Medical payers, Medical coding and Medical collection experience in a family practice, pediatrics, Ob/GYN practice.

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Must be able to work independently while utilizing strong analytic/critical thinking/time management skills.
  • Must be able to type 45 words per minute.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field and/or Medical Billing Certificate from an accredited school preferred
  • 1+ years prior experience in medical billing, medical insurance and/or customer service preferred
