We are seeking an Accounting specialist to join our team In this customer-facing role, you will be an assistant to the Controller and help with the billing and AR/AP aspects of business

Responsibilities:

  • Handle cash/check/credit cards transactions-sales - Enter customer payments and scan batches to bank
  • Process invoices for payment to vendors, loans, payroll etc.
  • Maintain and create Excel spreadsheets
  • Back up for front desk - Answer phones and assist with walk-in customers in a professional manner
  • Assist with inventory reports & collections of NSF and other nonpayment issues
  • Assist with propane customer contracts, set up new customer accounts
  • Learn about propane safety, delivery, and emergency procedures
  • Collect & update W-9 forms for new vendors
  • Prepare 1099’s for vendors at year-end and report to IRS
  • Assist with filing monthly and yearly taxes, collecting payroll information & government payment programs (Heap, state and county)

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in accounting a MUST (i.e. A/P, A/R, and general ledger)
  • Proficient in computer programs & software. (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Previous experience in customer service or similar related customer-facing position
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
