Busy, specialties subcontractor is searching for an Estimator to assist our Department Manager. This position will be responsible for the takeoffs and administration of the bid process for (Division 10, 11, 12) of the projects. All candidates with relevant experience / understanding of the building industry encouraged to apply.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Estimator position is one that calculates cost of construction from plans. Scopes of work include window coverings, motorization, bath accessories, mirrors, and shower doors. Estimators also create line drawings and provide supporting documents for Project Managers and Field staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Download Architectural Plans
- Perform take offs utilizing estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff)
- Obtain quotes from manufacturers
- Create supporting documentation per Builder requirements (color coded mark-ups, call-outs, etc.)
- Create bid templates and proposal for submittal to builder clients when needed
- Monitor RFIs, analyze and distribute responses.
- Learn Window Coverings and Bath Accessory Operating Systems
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- Relevant field experience / understanding of the building industry
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas and creating template knowledge preferred, not required)
- Experience using "take-off" software (On-Screen Takeoff preferred, not required)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Responsible and reliable person
- Good communication skills
Working Conditions:
Casual office work environment, with a typical business schedule of Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. May have contact with vendors or customers over the phone. Primarily email communication.
