Title – Shift Manager

Salary – $16 to $19 Hourly + Tips (Typically $20 to $25 with tips included)

Shift Manager

Half Fast Subs in Boulder is looking for an experienced shift manager to join our team Pay will be hourly plus tips and will be based on your prior experience. Must be willing to work night and weekend shifts. Schedule will need to be flexible, however, a standard work schedule will be established after initial training period.

Job Summary: As a Restaurant Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations during your assigned shifts, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. You will lead and motivate a team of staff members, provide exceptional customer service, and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and lead a team of restaurant staff.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Identify and resolve issues and bottlenecks to ensure smooth operations.

  2. Customer Service:

    • Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns, taking orders, and resolving issues promptly.
    • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and uphold high standards for service quality.
    • Ensure that food and drinks get delivered to customer in a timely manner.

  3. Operational Management:

    • Oversee the closing procedures of the restaurant.
    • Monitor and manage line stock levels, ensuring stock is replenished as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards.

  4. Shift Planning:

    • Create and communicate shift responsibilities to ensure staff is prepared during peak hours and efficient during closing duties.
    • Coordinate with other managers to optimize staffing and streamline operations.

  5. Financial Management:

    • Assist in controlling operational costs and maximizing revenue opportunities.
    • Handle cash transactions, divide daily tips, and reconcile cash registers.

  6. Training and Development:

    • Conduct training sessions for new employees and ongoing training for existing staff.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance team performance.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the restaurant industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and basic financial principles.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional education or training in hospitality management is a plus.

Working Conditions: This position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. It involves standing for extended periods and may require lifting and carrying moderate loads.
