Job Description:

We are currently seeking a compassionate and driven Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our oncology team on a full-time basis, focusing on inpatient hospital duty at Corewell Health, located at William Beaumont University Hospital in Metro Detroit.

Responsibilities:

•        Conduct thorough assessments of patients admitted to the oncology unit, focusing on comprehensive health histories and symptom management.

•        Collaborate closely with attending physicians to develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and preferences.

•        Monitor patients' progress throughout their hospital stay, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes and minimize side effects.

•        Facilitate communication and coordination among interdisciplinary teams, including oncologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.

•        Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and available support services to promote informed decision-making and enhance quality of life.

•        Participate actively in oncology research initiatives, quality improvement projects, and professional development activities to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field.

Qualifications:

•        Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.

•        Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

•        Board certification in Oncology (preferred but not required).

 

•        Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment, critical thinking, and effective communication.

•        Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
