Our Mission

The Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee is the K-12 outreach facility of the Florida A&M University – Florida State University College of Engineering and strives to foster long-term interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); create positive learning experiences; and motivate students to pursue higher education and careers in these fields. The Work You Will Do:

Joining the STEAM Team at Challenger Learning Center offers a unique opportunity to engage with K-12 students through a variety of educational experiences. Whether it’s leading a Field Trip or facilitating an exciting event, your role is to inspire and educate through hands-on activities both on and offsite.

As a STEAM Team member, you may:

  • Facilitate activities involving robotics, LEGOs, space science, and engineering challenges.
  • Lead and assist with Day Camps, homeschool groups, weekend science programs, and other events.
  • Engage students in tablet-based learning experiences within our service area.
  • So much more

We offer several opportunities for you to find your niche, allowing you to discover which programs best fit your interests or explore new areas within STEAM education. Your mission is to make learning fun and memorable, fostering curiosity and a love for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Hours: This is a part-time position, with less than 29 hours per week, schedule may vary.
