PROJECT MANAGER II

Position Summary:
This position’s responsibilities include oversight of a team of field employees performing construction-related activities in the cathodic protection industry. The focus of work is in various locations in Northern California. Tasks associated with this position will include coordination of the field personnel, scheduling of work, attending weekly project status meetings, use of several different computer software’s and various administrative tasks to support the project successfully.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in accordance with corporate safety department to ensure employee, client and public safety
- Work in accordance with IT department to ensure security of software, hardware and data.
- Project management, including planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling all the resources needed to provide efficient services.
- Monitor and manage project operational costs
- Review employee dailies for accuracy and approve prior to invoicing
- Work with HR during onboarding of new employees
- Review employee credit cards for accuracy and approve
- Ensure project compliance in regard to OQ and equipment calibration and documentation
- Strive to maintain and encourage excellent communication for both internal and external clients (i.e., verbal, email, phone and text)
- Other duties may be assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
Education and Experience:
- Short higher education with some relevant knowledge or 2-4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Cathodic Protection certification not required but preferred.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per insurance requirements
- Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screening and physical, as well as being subject to random drug testing throughout employment
- Must pass client required Operator’s Qualifications (“OQ”)
Knowledge/ Skills /Abilities:
- Knowledge of cathodic protection testing, survey, and asset integrity.
- Ability to plan, participate and conduct project meetings and trainings.
- Ability to become an OQ evaluator within first year
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate specialized equipment and tools; reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally; bending at the waist; standing and or walking for extended periods of time; hearing and speaking to exchange information; carrying 3-5 lb. electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 50 pounds or lifting in excess of 50 lbs. with tool aids.
- Approximately 90% of the work may be performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, twist, and squat. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Use of a company vehicle to travel may be warranted. The employee must be able to pass a driving test and safely operate a pickup truck.
- This position may require some travel.
