Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. As a bookkeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring timely reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks Online and preferably with Santa Cruz software, along with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Online.
  • Prefer experience with Santa Cruz software.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform monthly closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Respond to inquiries from management, vendors, and clients regarding financial matters.
  • Stay informed about relevant accounting regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required; experience with Santa Cruz software is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Previous experience in the transportation industry (preferred but not required).
