The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) will play a key role on the FP&A the team, acting as a finance partner to the lines of business, focused on modeling and analytical support. The SFA will help drive annual financial planning, forecasting and development of comprehensive key business metrics, The SFA will be responsible for sophisticated financial models, enabling the FP&A team to deliver insightful, value-added analysis across the company.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the monthly reporting package including financial statements, comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, operational dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus budget variances and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences.
  • Impact ORBCOMM’s success by driving an efficient, effective and comprehensive process for developing financial plans and analysis that link to the strategic objectives.
  • Participate in developing and monitoring the company’s annual budget and monthly forecasts, ensuring plans and projections are accurate, comprehensive and completed on time.
  • Support the preparation of the company’s long-range strategic planning.
  • Provide financial modeling, financial analysis and valuation support for acquisitions, new product development, long-term contracts and other ad-hoc financial projects.
  • Use analytic techniques to identify insights and communicate to financial and non-financial stakeholders; help identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Provide leadership in the annual strategic planning and budget development process by reviewing current and projected needs, soliciting input and feedback across business units, and developing the associated KPIs and metrics.
  • Lead the implementation and improvement of financial systems and tools.
  • Partner with Treasury on understanding and analyzing cash flow results and driving forecast accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Board materials and contribute to Investor Relation presentations and Press Releases.
  • Ensure and maintain professional responsibility and financial stewardship by adhering to ethical standards of professional conduct.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Experience working with global, cross functional teams to ensure the success of the defined strategy
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to plan, develop and execute creative approaches to financial issues
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Energetic with ability to adapt quickly to changes and muti-task
  • Strong system skills; experience with Hyperion or JDE a plus
  • Experience developing and maintaining budgets in integrated financial accounting systems
