POSITION DESCRIPTION
The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

The CHO Site Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the Youth Inclusion Initiative (YII) for a 6-week summer program, fostering environmental stewardship and youth development within overburdened communities. This role serves as the central point of contact between the DEP and the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield, ensuring the success of the program through effective management, mentorship, and evaluation.


Full Job Description
The Boys & Girls Club of Garfield is seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to manage, mentor, and implement high-quality programming for our club members involved in the Youth Inclusion Initiative. The primary responsibility of the CHO Site Coordinator is to ensure engaging, educational, and safe experiences for the youth throughout the program’s duration.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with program goals and schedules.
  • Recruit and mentor youth participants, fostering engagement and learning.
  • Attend mandatory DEP training and implement development sessions for youth.
  • Lead and manage a significant community project, coordinating with local partners.
  • Maintain regular communication with DEP, manage documentation, and ensure timely deliverables.
  • Manage program budget, ensuring proper expense tracking and allocation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or background in Environmental Science, Education, Social Work, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in program management, preferably in youth development or environmental conservation.
  • Dedicated to the full 6-week duration of the program and available for all scheduled activities.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • First AID, AED, BLS/CPR certification preferred.
